A12n or a12n is an abbreviation for Africanisation in an ICT sense. A12n = A + 12 (the number of letters between the first and last letter) + n.

A12n refers to the "last mile of i18n" plus L10n in Africa. In other words, all that is necessary to fully use computers and the internet in African languages. The term was coined for use on the Bisharat site.

(The term Africanisation has its own history within Africa, particularly in the period just after colonial rule.)
