Dwayne is from South Africa and is a director of Translate.org.za which is a project that specialises in localising Free and Open Source software into South Africa's 11 official languages.
His interests are localisation, free software and culture and amateur belly dancing. He is currently working on the WordForge project which has created better tools for localisers, with the goal of making it easier for others to create free software in their language. The project is funded by IDRC and OSI and forms part of the work of the WordForge Foundation of which he is a director.
Dwayne has provided help and training to other localisers in Africa and his dream is to see all 239 African languages with more that 1 million speakers included in modern software so that people can use computers no matter what language they speak.
