The Localisation Research Centre at the University of Limerick in Ireland "is the information, educational, and research centre for the localisation community."


"The Centre’s focus is to carry out research, to act as an information broker, and to be the educational centre of excellence for the localisation industry."

"The Centre's key activities include research and development and the evaluation of localisation tools, the establishment of a Localisation Tools Library, consultancy services, education and training and the publication of a regular Journal." (from the LRC site)

LRC also sponsors annual conferences on localisation, which have included some presentations on localisation in Africa.

LRC has a cooperative agreement with the University of South Africa UNISA.
