Orthography
An orthography (orthographe en français ; ortografia em português) is the set of characters (and other marks) in a particular writing system that are used to write a language(s), and the rules for their proper use (spelling, etc.).
It is reported that about 80% of African languages do not have formal orthographies (UNESCO).
